Heads up on the results from the at home COVID tests. The FDA says that these tests should reveal the presence of virus in the nose at least 80% of the time. Some individuals may test negative despite having COVID-19 symptoms. This may be due to a low level of virus in the nose. It's suggested that testing be repeated at 48 hour intervals if you have symptoms AND have a negative test result.

The second hurdle to clear, is that many Long Covid sufferers (yes, all the symptoms checked) still, nevertheless, test as negative. I'm glad to see the kit tests becoming more sensitive and accurate, but this may still be a problem.
Moreover, if one is honest with one's doctor, they are not allowed to prescribe Paxlovid (Pfizer) or
anything else to TREAT Covid, if the symptoms have been going on for a long time. Yet I suspect Paxlovid and perhaps, other antivirals, may well help Long Covid sufferers; even if they don't completely fix the problem. Any alleviation at all, would be a much appreciated improvement.
