Dr Crane-Godreau, I owe you a big thank you for inspiring me to change my diet. I have always been a healthy eater, but I followed your plan of eliminating and reintroducing foods to my diet....it was a long 10 days. I am now eating a crazy amount of vegetables, cut out all sugar, although I do eat fruit and 80% dark chocolate, added some fermented foods and make sure everything I eat is nutritious without empty calories. I don't crave any of the foods I originally missed. Its is time consuming and expensive and I am fortunate I have been able to do this, but being sick and not able to work is also time consuming and expensive. I started low dose naltrexone the same time I changed my diet. Six weeks later I felt a noticeable difference and it was the best I had felt in 1.5 years. I am not sure if it was the diet, the LDN or a combination both with time thrown in. I read a great book by Dr Akil Palanisamy, The T.I.G.E.R. Protocol, that stresses the importance of nutrition and stress management in autoimmune disease. I tried so many things to get better before I tried nutrition and thank you again for giving me the idea.

Hi Meghan,

Thanks so much for writing. It sounds as if you've figured out a solution that's working for you. From my side, it feels good to know that these ideas empower others with enough information to find meaningful solutions. I hope that you will pass the info on to others!
