Thanks Mardi; I feel that there is a great deal of validity to Porges postulations, and yes I think this information can be helpful when applied as part and parcel within a recovery regimen. Emotional health is certainly a part of mental health; Along with physical health, etc., human health and well being is certainly a complex symphony to experience any semblance of vitality. Vitality is that which was robbed from me. I frequently muse that hope and a sense of humor is much of that which has kept me alive the past seven + years.

Dear Mardi,

thank you so much for this thoughtful post. I have ME and I'm almost certain that the stress suffered during the early pandemic was key in developing the disorder. After becoming severely ill, I intuitively started listening to soothing music. Classical music was too complex for me at the time, so I used frequency music and spa music. It helped me transition from the "tired and restless" state to resting. I believe music has been instrumental in my recovery so far. I am very thankful for your insights here and hope that music will benefit many more.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. My sense is that we together are a community where mutual wisdom supports recovery.

You might find some useful insights in the posts that I've written about stress, brain fog, resilience and an overview from TLC for Mitochondria https://longcovidjourney2wellness.substack.com/p/long-covid-tlc-for-mitochondria

Your feedback is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Mardi
